Flip-flops, hot sand, night markets and ten thousand steps a day – on holiday your feet do most of the work. This is their hour. Our Foot Massage is a traditional Thai foot massage: part reflexology, part leg massage, and one of the most quietly blissful things you can do in Thailand. You settle into our foot massage room with its view of the tropical garden, and for the next sixty minutes nothing is asked of you at all. How your session unfolds • It begins with slow, held presses on the toes and feet – the moment most guests feel their shoulders drop. • Oil is smoothed over the foot and lower leg, right up to the knee, with long strokes along the calf and circles around the ankle bones. • Knuckles and thumbs work across the top of the foot, and every toe is gently stretched. • Then the soles: your therapist presses a series of reflex points along three lines of the foot. In Thai tradition these points are linked to the rest of the body, which may be why a good foot massage seems to relax far more than the feet. • The Achilles and calves are loosened, and the session ends with Thai-style foot stretches that leave your legs feeling light.
