When a gentle massage is not enough, this is the one. Our Deep Tissue Massage works slowly and deliberately into the deeper layers of muscle to release the knots and tightness that lighter massages glide over. Your therapist warms the muscles first with broad palm pressure from the feet up to the shoulders, then applies oil and goes to work with thumbs, knuckles and forearms – long, slow strokes along the muscles beside the spine, focused circles around the shoulder blades, and firm V-shaped strokes through the calves and thighs. The pace is unhurried on purpose: deep work done slowly is what allows a tight muscle to finally let go. Arms, hands, neck and head are included, so you leave feeling loosened from top to toe. Your therapist checks the pressure with you and adjusts it – a “good ache” is the aim. It is normal to feel a little tender the next day; drink plenty of water afterwards.
